The Story

Singapore's Forest Town

Tengah is Singapore's newest HDB town, branded as the "Forest Town" for its emphasis on greenery, car-free town centre, and sustainable design. The first residents moved in around September 2023, with the town eventually planned to house over 42,000 homes across five residential districts: Plantation, Garden, Park, Brickland and Forest Hill.

As of 2026, no dedicated swimming complex has been announced for Tengah. However, Sport Singapore's masterplan aims to provide sports facilities within a 10-minute walk for most residents by 2030. The upcoming Jurong Region Line (expected from 2027) will significantly improve connectivity from Tengah to nearby towns with swimming pools.

In the meantime, Tengah residents have several options within a short drive or bus ride: Choa Chu Kang Swimming Complex (wave pool), Bukit Batok Swimming Complex, Jurong East Swimming Complex, and Senja-Cashew Swimming Complex (infinity pool and jacuzzi at standard pricing). All are ActiveSG facilities with the same affordable entry fees.

No. As of 2026, no dedicated swimming complex has been announced for Tengah. The town is still in its early development phase. Residents currently use nearby pools in Choa Chu Kang, Bukit Batok, Jurong East and Bukit Panjang.
Nearby pools use standard ActiveSG pricing. Singapore Citizens and PRs pay $1.00 (weekday) or $1.30 (weekend & PH) for adults, and $0.50 / $0.60 for children under 12 and seniors 55+. The standard rate for non-residents is $1.30 / $1.70. For unlimited access, the MyActiveSWIM pass costs $10/month for adults and $5/month for children and seniors. Singapore citizens aged 65 and above swim free.
The nearest pool is Choa Chu Kang Swimming Complex, about 4 km from Tengah town centre. Bus services connect Tengah to Choa Chu Kang MRT. The Jurong Region Line (expected from 2027) will add MRT stations within Tengah.
